SDG 7, 8, 9 & 11: Driving the Energy transition in Africa

How are we doing this?

The Nigerian Energy Transition Plan (ETP) currently underway highlights gas to be a critical role player in the transition of fuel in Nigeria’s net-zero pathway. This aligns seamlessly with our drive to accelerate the energy transition, improving African lives.

To achieve this in the area of gas pipeline construction, Oilserv has introduced and deployed Automatic Welding Technology in pipeline construction in Nigeria. This amongst several other technologies at play in the construction of our gas pipeline projects will improve energy efficiency and in turn, suppress any surmounting environmental challenges.

Furthermore, the drive for renewable energy brings about the use of improved technologies, equipment, and services. So, far, we have seen a 30% upturn in our recruitment rate to close out our pipeline projects. Simply put, the drive for energy transition has created and will continue to create job opportunities for experts and learners in the energy industry.

Foreseeable Impact

The move to accelerate the energy transition requires expansive investment in renewable measures to achieve energy efficiency, conservation, and accessibility. This investment we believe will lead to additional demand and output across economic sectors thereby increasing Africa’s GDP.

Finally, there will be no need to strive for energy transition if its effect would not favourably affect African lives. With the introduction of renewable energy, we foresee a future where African industrialization is improved because of the availability of cheaper cleaner energy which has before time bridged a barrier to a better life. In turn, Africans will enjoy a more productive and healthier life.
