Operations

…Our services cover project management, engineering, procurement, construction/fabrication, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

Our services cover project management, engineering, procurement, construction/fabrication, installation, commissioning, and maintenance. Some other associated Specialized Areas of Operation and Core Competence include the following:

Horizontal Thrust-boring

Auger boring is the process of forming a horizontal bore by jacking the steel casing through the earth from a main shaft to a reception shaft.

During horizontal auger boring, a horizontal shaft is driven  from the drive to the reception shaft using a rotating cutting head. The excavated material is brought back to the drive shaft where it is removed. As the bore advances, a casing is pushed into place using a hydraulic jack.

This process is called Horizontal Thrust Boring (HTB) and is one of the oldest and most basic forms of trenchless technology used for installing underground utilities; roads and railway crossings without interference with vehicular and train traffics.

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)

Due to environmental concerns and pipeline vandalism, horizontal directional drilling (HDD) is a trenchless method we employ to install pipelines across rivers, urbanized areas, and some towns. This steerable method typically requires three stages: drilling the pilot hole, reaming the hole, and product pipe pullback. It uses a surface-launched drilling equipment to install pipes, conduits, and cables.

Directional boring enables execution of the most difficult crossings on schedule and under budget while minimizing environmental impact. The passage of Telecommunication lines, Heavy Duty Cables, and Pipelines across built-up areas, trains, and across facilities are only a few of the jobs that HDD is ideal for.

Direct Pipe Installation (DPI)

In order to create a method that is both flexible and effective, microtunneling and HDD were combined to create Direct Pipe Installation (DPI), a trenchless method of pipeline installation.

It’s a one-pass technique that does not require pipe thrusting or a shaft for reverse reaming like HDD or micro-tunneling. The direct pipe method, which is appropriate for most ground/soil conditions, entails simultaneously excavating the borehole and installing the pipeline.

Welding And Fabrication

Welding and fabrication are areas where our expertise and skills are unmatched.

The semi-automatic welding system and the fully automatic system make up our automatic welding system. Compared to manual welding techniques, more joints can be completed using these devices.

These welding systems have been utilized by Oilserv to complete a number of projects, including the GPAL project, the Oron project, the OB3 project, and the on-going AKK project, where they are now being used to achieve more than 1KM of completed joints every day.

Construction & Installation of Manifolds

Since its start, Oilserv Limited has completed the construction and installation of manifolds in Nigeria’s Niger Delta.

A typical example was the building of a 36-inch Trans-Niger (TNP) Manifold at Ogale, Eleme in Rivers State, which is located within the SPDC (SHELL) operations’ Ogoni axis

Diving Services

For the oil and gas sector, Oilserv offers air, mixed gas, and saturation diving services.

A sizable fleet of ROV and diving support vessels is used in conjunction with our key partners (outfitted with Dynamic Positioning Functionality).

Certified underwater welders from Oilserv’s diving crew provide construction and maintenance welding services (wet and dry hyperbaric welding repairs). Moreover, Oilserv divers have expertise in pipeline maintenance, inspection, plugging, and abandonment.

Fabrication Activity & Yards

Oilserv owns and operates a 20 Hectare support base in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. This facility allows for major fabrication in service of onshore and offshore projects.

We fabricate crude oil/product storage tanks, barges, platforms, decks, spools, pontoons, mechanical and structural fabrications, and jackets. Our fabrication conforms to ASME B31.4 Code and to other internationally acceptable Standards and Codes

Oilserv Ltd has two specialized fabrication shops that are well-suited for the company’s land, swamp, and offshore operations.

Transportation & Installations

Oilserv provides services for the transportation and installation of the typically large and heavy equipment and modules found in the offshore market.

Pipeline Leak Repairs/Clamping

Oilserv has proven its strength in the area of pipeline and flow-line leak repairs and clamping services, on land, swamp, canals, and river crossings.

Cathodic Protection

Oilserv carries out temporary Cathodic protection and permanent Cathodic protection (Imprest-Current) as an integral part of her scope of activities.

De-oiling/De-watering

Oilserv performs de-oiling and de-watering of oil and gas pipelines as part of our services.

During de-watering, we employ a variety of pigging vehicles, chemical/gels, and inhibitors (anti-corrosion fluids). It’s useful to have our cutting-edge HT400 triplex pumps.
