Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility

…creating a balance between the commitment to energy transition and solving energy poverty in Africa.

Sustainability

Sustainable practices are crucial to ensuring that Oilserv Limited continues to thrive in the long term and that it remains one of Africa’s largest integrated energy companies throughout the global energy transition phase.

We contribute towards eradicating energy poverty in Africa through our commitment to energy transition with our engineering expertise and technological innovation.

At Oilserv, Sustainability means continuing to deliver quality projects with minimal environmental impacts, serving our customers, employees, stakeholders, and communities in an environmentally, socially, and ethically responsible way.

We strive to embed sustainability commitment into our strategy, business processes, operations, and decision-making to continuously impact African lives positively. Through the services we provide, the way we run the organization and our Corporate Social Responsibilities, we contribute to over 10 out of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Oilserv, is a non-governmental organization incorporated in 2011. Since its incorporation, the foundation has remained dedicated to implementing sustainable interventions in Education, Healthcare, Human Capital, and Community development.

We are involved in scaling up good practices in environmental and social performance and building on innovative partnerships, while recognising the importance of the energy transition in the world’s aim to achieve net-zero emissions under the Paris Agreement.

Between 2021 to 2023, we have made efforts in advancing sustainable development and continue to strive in areas such as economic development, local content and capacity building, community engagement, anti-corruption, health and safety, greenhouse gas reduction, and scaling up global action on environmental protection.

We highlight some of the progress Oilserv has made towards implementing the roadmap.

Our poverty alleviation program encourages productivity, empowers businesses, and brings households out of obscurity and poverty.

Our processes are geared towards a conscious attempt to promote gender equality by encouraging gender inclusivity in both our workplaces and our impact on society at large.

Every African child deserves to be in school.

With the need to push towards a more sustainable environment, Oilserv looks to drive the transformation of the African energy sector from a fossil-based system of energy production and consumption to cleaner energy sources such as gas and renewables.

NOTABLE COLLABORATIONS & TURNKEY PROJECTS

The Walk-to-Water: A Woman’s Crisis is a project in partnership with the United State Department of State that offers access to safe water and hope for the community of Niger Delta, a creek-fishing community that, despite its substantial oil and gas reserves, is the poorest and most underdeveloped region in Nigeria due to accelerated exploitation of natural resources and the devastation of the environment.

Our Group has closely catered to the needs of our host communities for the last three decades. since the incorporation of the Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation in 2011. The purpose of this project is to provide better life amenities that can help improve the quality of life in Anambra communities.
