The SUN Publishing Limited, organizers of The SUN Awards yesterday October 16 th 2021 honoured Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, Group Managing Director (GMD), The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) with the prestigious ‘’The SUN Man of the Year 2020” award.
He was voted winner in that category amongst several other outstanding personalities for his contribution to the development of the petroleum sector in Nigeria.
In addition to other notable achievements such as record breaking N287 billion profit posted for 2020, the best since inception 44 years ago, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) which he heads published the audited financial statements (AFS). It was trailblazing and a whiff of good fortune in a beleaguered entity and time.
While the year 2020 was indeed a year of pain, scourge, fear and anguish that saw the first ever pandemic caused by a Coronavirus, Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari stood out, lit the way and soared to the mountain top.
