NNPC, FG lauds Oilserv for demonstrating indigenous capacity and promoting Local Content

The introduction of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development policy by the Federal Government of Nigeria was aimed at encouraging the participation of indigenous companies in the industry, which will not only generate an increase in oil and gas production and contribute to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product, but will also lead to the engagement and employment of Nigerian youths.

Incorporated in 1992 but commenced operations in 1995, Oilserv has continued to optimize its growth using its resources and have contributed immensely to the development of pipelines and facility management in Nigeria through the execution of various long and short term projects within and outside the country utilizing only Nigerians, state-of-the-art equipment and facilities that provides sound and adequately engineered solutions to technical problems on Land, Swamp and Offshore terrains.

Oilserv has been in the fore-front of promoting and developing local content in the Nigerian Oil and Gas sector and has positioned Nigeria in the global energy limelight especially at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas, USA.
Based on the glaring success recorded on all projects executed since inception, no doubt to say that Oilserv has successfully changed the narrative of what used to be the forte of international oil companies in Nigeria today.

The On-going East-West Gas Pipeline project popularly called OB3 which the company is currently working on is a key national project which Oilserv won following a thorough bidding process. The 130km by 48inch which is the biggest ever built in Nigeria, will transmit gas from the East West to meet the demand for power generation and other industrial purpose. The 67km Lot B part of the project begins from the intermediate pigging station (IPS) at Umukwata in Delta State and terminates at the Oben Node in Edo State.

In April 2019, Top management of NNPC led by the COO, Gas and Power; Engr. Saidu Mohammed and MD, NGC, Mr. Babatunde Bakare visited the site for inspection.
Just recently, a delegation from NNPC and a Representative from the office of the Vice president of Nigeria, visited the project sites. The expressions and feedback is a clear testament of the fact that Oilserv has created a clear differential advantage above its competitors.

The representative from the office of the Vice President of Nigeria; Mr. Babatunde Awolowo said “Oilserv is doing a noble work here and we are happy with the pace at which the work is on- going been the biggest facility to be built in the country. We cannot wait to escort the presidency to commission this great project by Oilserv’’.

The General Manager, Strategy/Planning; Engr. Aminu Sufyanu Ringim expressed delight at the level of work done so far utilizing only Nigerians and commended the company for a job well done.
The Managing Director of Oilserv; Engr. Gbite Falade thanked the client for being extremely supportive and believing in the ability of Oilserv to deliver. He also thanked the workers on site who have demonstrated a great level of diligence and commitment to work. He reiterated the commitment of the company to continue working conscientiously to ensure that the OB3 project is completed and delivered to client in due course.
