It has been an annual tradition of the Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation and Oilserv to donate foodstuffs to host communities in Rivers State, Abia State, Oraifite, Ichi, Nnewi, Ozubulu, and its environs across Nigeria.
In a bid to cushion the effect of the Corona Virus pandemic on the livelihood and health of our host communities in Rivers State as well as support other States and the Federal Government in the fight against the pandemic, we donated foodstuff and medical supplies worth millions of naira in 2020.
Through our poverty alleviation program, mini-grants and machinery have been given to individuals in Oraifite to encourage productivity, empower businesses and bring households out of obscurity and poverty.
In 2022, Oilserv/Foundation completed and commissioned the first cardiology and cardio-thoracic healthcare delivery system (Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Hospital (DIOMH), in the South -Eastern region of Nigeria. The hospital principally performs surgeries such as open-heart surgeries for free to the indigents and at highly subsidized terms to Nigerians and others who can afford it.
Milestones Achieved
- We achieved a ground-breaking record of cardiology delivery in Africa where we executed 25 surgery procedures on 23 recipients for FREE from the 1st – 10th of November, 2022 in partnership with VOOM Foundation, USA.
- Between 2020 -2022, we have conducted 4 medical outreaches and 2 Open-heart surgery missions in the South-East of Nigeria that catered to a total of 3,005 beneficiaries drawn from across Nigeria.
