Engineering Week 2025 was a truly memorable experience! From March 4 to March 8, Oilserv Group through Frazimex Engineering joined the global community to recognise the impact of engineering, explore its future, and celebrate the brilliant minds shaping the industry.
The week began with a focus on learning and collaboration, with the theme Shaping Our Sustainable Future Through Engineering. In partnership with Oilserv Limited, discussions centered on how engineering is driving sustainability and transforming industries.
Kenechukwu Nwangwu, Managing Director of Oilserv Limited, delivered an insightful lecture on Engineering Leadership in Oil & Gas, Sustainability, and Environmental Responsibility. He highlighted the importance of engineering leaders in driving innovation, improving efficiency, and embracing cleaner energy solutions to reduce environmental impact.
Bob-Manuel Austin, Senior Project Manager at Oilserv Limited, followed with a thought-provoking session on the role of engineering in sustainability, exploring the relationship between engineering and environmental challenges.
He examined how industrial development, resource use, and technological advancements have influenced both problems and solutions, sparking meaningful discussions on the future of sustainable engineering.
A major highlight of the week was the radio talk show on AI in sustainable engineering. The conversation explored whether AI can be trusted to design and manage sustainability projects efficiently or if it introduces risks such as bias, job displacement, and overreliance on technology.
With compelling arguments on both sides, the debate left attendees with much to think about.
Throughout the week, there was also a daily trivia challenge, where participants tested their knowledge of engineering-related questions and won prizes. Fun facts about engineering were shared each day, sparking conversations and new discoveries.
Midweek brought a lively quiz competition, where teams from Frazimex and Oilserv competed in a friendly test of knowledge. The energy was high, the competition was fierce, and the shared moments of learning and laughter made it a favorite part of the week.
As the celebration neared its end, excitement peaked with a treasure hunt. Gems were hidden in different locations at the Base 2 office, and lucky winners walked away with great surprises. It was an interactive and thrilling activity that had everyone engaged.
The week concluded with a grand finale: a Saturday afternoon filled with games, team activities, and celebrations to recognize the incredible work engineers do every day. It was the perfect way to wrap up a week of learning, collaboration, and fun.
Engineering Week 2025 reinforced the importance of innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning in shaping the future. The experiences and conversations throughout the week will continue to inspire and drive progress in Oilserv Group and the industry.
