Astute businessman, entrepreneur and Chairman of Oilserv Group, Engr. Emeka Okwuosa has emerged The Sun Investor of the Year, 2017 after a rigorous selection process by The Sun Publishing Board of Editors.
Engr. Emeka Okwuosa received the prestigious award at a glamourous ceremony held at the Eko Hotels and Suite, Victoria Island Lagos, on Saturday, February 24, 2018 alongside other award recipients.
The Managing Director of The Sun, Mr. Eric Osagie, who paid Engr. Emeka Okwuosa a courtesy visit with his team prior to the event at the Corporate Headquarters of Oilserv Group in Port Harcourt to formally notify him of the award, said Engr. Okwuosa emerged after robust debates in keeping with the tradition of preserving the integrity of The Sun Awards, which has been running since 2003.
While speaking during the courtesy visit, Mr. Osagie explained that members of the Board of Editors made nominations in each category, which were exhaustively debated before arriving at the choice of winners.
He extolled Engr. Emeka Okwuosa for his numerous investments in Oil and Gas, Agriculture, Engineering, Mining and in Human Capital development both locally and internationally.
He emphasized that Engr. Okwuosa truly earned the honour having contributed immensely in diverse fields to the development of the nation and improvement in the quality of lives of the citizens.
In his response, Engr. Emeka Okwuosa thanked the Management of Sun Newspapers for deeming him a worthy recipient of the prestigious award.
“I thank the Management of Sun for this honour. Indeed The Sun has always been recognized in the industry for balanced reportage and proper process. This award to me shows proper process in arriving at your winners”, Okwuosa said.
He added that “the management and staff of Oilserv are proud of you. We will continue to work with you in your quest to create value for the country”.
Okwuosa reiterated his commitment in the development of both human and institutional capacity in the oil and gas sector and also in other sectors of the economy.
He underscored that Oilserv Limited is poised and positioned to be not only the leading and foremost EPC Company in Nigeria, but the top-choice company in the Pipelines and Facility business.
He noted that the company has delivered various key projects with high safety and quality standards including the 67km x 48” Lot B, East-West Gas Pipeline (Obiafo/Obrikom to Oben- OB3) which is over 95 per cent completed and will be delivered to client in a few months.
